The Spectrum of Ands IV
This series of monoprints are 6-layers, created with ecofriendly, oil based Cranfield Caligo Inks. It is modeled after my painting, Glencoe, from a magical, little roadside waterfall my friend and I found when driving around Glencoe, Scotland. Something about all the ferns, the glorious shades of green, and the dance of the water as it flowed out of the forest drew me in.
As an artist and human, I am both a dichotomous and integrated person, with interests and skills on opposite sides of the spectrum. In my art practice, I am always pairing my love for realism and the naturalistic world, with the light and color quality of the impressionists, and the essence and movement of the abstract expressionists. This series encapsulates the full spectrum of my artistic expressions, in varying degrees, across the continuum of realism and abstraction.
My monoprints are one-of-a-kind originals which are created using ink, by both additive and subtractive processes. The image made onto the printmaking plate is then pressed, transferring the image onto paper. The final artwork is built by layering multiple images, one on top of another. These handmade prints are made with Cranfield oil based, eco-friendly inks and high-quality printmaking paper.
All in this series consists of 8 X 10 images, sold with a mat included, and will fit in an 11 X 14 frame.
